GPOA Committees
All Volunteers
The current board of directors consists of no more than thirteen members and requires that responsibilities be shared through the coordination of numerous committees. Committee chairs handle a variety of responsibilities and often delegate projects and events to volunteers throughout the neighborhood. The majority of activities, responsibilities, and events are managed by the following committees.
Social Committee
This group has been at the forefront of providing hospitality for residents during holidays, athletic events, and social gatherings in the area. Movie in the Park, Astronomy Night, Neighbor Stroll, and other activities all focus on bringing people together and are the primary mission of this dedicated group.

Grounds Committee
The GPOA Grounds Committee is committed to maintaining the various medians, planting areas, and the aesthetic beauty of Goodwood Park—features that have become important aspects of what Old Goodwood offers its residents. Volunteers and contracted workers keep plantings thriving and have been instrumental in park upgrades. Please take a moment to get involved with this committee and support the work being done throughout Old Goodwood.

Zoning Committee
This committee may be one of the most critical groups within the association. Its purpose is to maintain the integrity of the area affected by development and construction. The committee has developed a long-established rapport with city council representatives, as well as the East Baton Rouge Planning and Zoning Commission, and has helped ensure a strong voice in decisions and discussions as zoning requests and new developments continue to encroach on Old Goodwood.
Zoning requests under consideration by the commission or council are posted on the Zoning Page.

Communications Committee
A critical aspect of any organization, the Communications Committee works to maintain an up-to-date database of residents and association members. Email, phone, and address information are used to keep residents informed about zoning, development, street, community, and safety concerns throughout the area. The committee also oversees the sharing of social and community events of interest through the website and Facebook page.
